Martin County's Top Communities That Are Walking Distance To The Beach

Martin County Communities Walking Distance To The Beach

So, what’s the best part about living in Florida? It’s a question you might hear discussed often, yet the same 2-3 answers always seem to be given. For some it’s the 230+ days of sunshine we get every single year and for others it’s very simply the lack of cold winter temperatures. And while the warm temps and the constant sunshine are unquestionably a positive in Florida’s favor, the ability to walk to the beach trumps everything in our minds. But with that said, you only get to walk to the beach if you live within walking distance, and these highly desirable Martin County neighborhoods offer prospective home buyers with that exact opportunity.

Sailfish Point - Stuart, FL

Sailfish Point might be the ultimate “walk to the beach” community in all of Martin County. Perfectly situated on the southern tip of Hutchinson Island, Sailfish Point is a sprawling, 532-acre golf course community with 520 residences that are all just steps from the oceanfront. And if a close proximity to the beach isn’t enough, the pristinely maintained, Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course at Sailfish Point is one of the premier places to hit the links in Martin County, ultimately providing prospective home buyers everything they could want in a new South Florida place to call home.

Jupiter Island - Jupiter Island, FL

Although Jupiter Island is technically its own village, this barrier island community is almost entirely residential, allowing for a quiet, low-key atmosphere that feels much like an ideal neighborhood setting. Despite having a total area of 3.6 miles, less than 500 homes occupy Jupiter Island, which is perfect for those not wanting to live near a lot of hustle and bustle a beachfront location often sees. But if you’re thinking about buying a home on Jupiter Island, be prepared for potential sticker shock, as this particular part of Florida’s Treasure Coast has previously been ranked #1 in the U.S. for having the highest median home sale, not to mention the highest per capita income of any place in the country.

Riverwood Condos - Stuart, FL

If Jupiter Island is a little too rich for your blood, the Riverwood Condos in Indian River Plantation might be the perfect alternative. Affordable, attractive, and well within walking distance to the waterfront, the Riverwood Condos complex consists of 12 two-story buildings that combine to house 60 nicely appointed condominium residences. Originally built back in the early 1980s, many condos in the community have been updated and modernized, and the complex overall has been meticulously maintained and well-managed over the years as well. In fact, we think Riverwood offer one of the more pleasant condo development settings in all of Martin County, and sometimes you might even get lucky and see prices starting under $400,000.

Plantation Club Villas - Stuart, FL

Also part of the Indian River Plantation, the Plantation Club Villas are slightly newer than condos over at Riverwood, as well as slightly more affordable as well. Price-wise, it’s not uncommon for units to start in the low $300,000s, which is a pretty incredible value for a Martin County condo this close to the waterfront. You’ll find just 48 units at the Plantation Club Villas community, and floor plans here range in size from 1,188 to 1,430 square feet. Monthly assessments are also quite reasonable here, and we love the size of the private balconies attached to each condo. But don’t be surprised if units on the market need a little updating here and there, which often explains the low entry-level pricing.
